Service Selection Commission Board release official notification for recruitment in Central Police Organisation on 4 March 2024 . SSC CPO recruitment on the post of Sub-Inspector and CAPF application open detailed notification release on 4 March 2024. Application start from 4 March 2024 itself until 28 March 2024. There are around 4187 vacancies in SSC CPO recruitment 2024. CBT exam for SSC CPO schedule on 9, 10, 13 May 2024 is now postponed to 27-29 June 2024. About SSC
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organisation under the Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate offices and agencies.This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of chairman, two members and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations. His post is equivalent to the level of additional secretary to the government of India.
The functions of the Staff Selection Commission were redefined by the government of India through Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and on 21 May 1999. Then the new constitution and functions of the Staff Selection Commission came into effect from 1 June 1999. Every year conducts the Combined Graduate Level Examination for recruiting non-gazetted officers to various government jobs
Functions of SSC
- To make recruitment to (i) all Group “B” posts (ii) all non-technical Group “C” posts
- In particular, to hold Open Competitive Examinations for recruitment to the posts of Lower Division Clerks, Grade “C” and Grade ‘D” Stenographers, Assistants in the various Ministries, Inspectors of Central Excise, Sub-Inspectors. Divisional Accountants,Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) in CPWD. Statistical Investigators. Tax Assistant. Section Officer ( Commercial Audit), a Group “B” Non-gazetted post in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department
- The Commission also holds Departmental Examination for promotion from Group “D” to Lower Division Clerk Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service and equivalent grades in Indian Foreign Service (B)/Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service/Armed Force Hqrs. Clerical Service. Lower Divisional Clerks to Upper Divisional Clerks Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service and equivalent Indian Foreign Service (B)/Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service/Armed Forces Hqrs. Clerical Service. Stenographers Grade “D” to Stenographers Grade “C” of the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service and equivalent grades in Indian Foreign Service (B)/Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service/Armed Forces Hqrs. Stenographers Service.
- The Commission conducts periodical Typewriting Tests in English and Hindi.Group “D” to Lower Division Clerk Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service.Lower Divisional Clerks to Upper Divisional Clerks Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service and equivalent. Stenographers Grade “D” to Stenographers Grade “C” of the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service and equivalent.
- The Commission prepares schemes for recruitment to all Group “B” posts and Group “C” non-technical posts in the Ministries/Departmental of the Govt. of India including its Attached and Subordinate Offices in consultation with the Departments concerned.
- The Commission performs such other functions as may be entrusted to it by the Central Govt. from time to time.
Eligibility for SSC CPO recruitment
- Citizenship- candidate is a citizen of India/ Nepal/ or Bhutan
- Age– Minimum Age for SSC CPO is 20 years. Maximum age is 25. There are age relaxations available to people from SC/ST, or ex-servicemen, widows and for departmental candidates of Delhi Police.
- Qualification- Bachelor’s degree from a UGC recognised university or equivalent examination.
- Male candidates must possess a valid Driving license for LMV (Motorcycle and Car).
