The Department of Backward Classes Welfare (BCM) announces BCM Hostel Service for Socially Backward students. The initiative goes beyond traditional financial aid, recognising diverse challenges students face during their educational endeavours. The main objective of BCM Hostel Scheme is to provide hostel fees and accommodation facilities to students who have a long way from home.

As per the notification released, applications in Backwards Classes Welfare Department (BCWD) Pre-Matric and Post-Matric (PUC and PUC equivalent courses students only). Hostel admissions for the year 2024-25 can be submitted by candidates belonging to Category 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, SC and ST. The applications are to be submitted online. The last date to submit online application for Pre-Matric Hostel Admission 2024-25 is 10th July, 2024 and for Post-Matric Hostel Admission 2024-25 is 20th July, 2024.

Annual income of family for candidates belonging to Category 1, SC, ST should be less than Rs. 2.5 lakh and for 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B the annual income of family should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.

About BCM Hostel Scheme

The BCWD Hostel Application 2024 in Karnataka is a scheme that provides hostel facilities to students belonging to backward classes. Students from socially backward classes (SC/ST/OBC) enrolled in recognized educational institutions in Karnataka can apply. The allotment process considers student priorities and department criteria. The Pre-matric Hostels are for students studying in classes 6th to 10th. Students above 10th class or pursuing graduation / post-graduation can apply for Post-matric Hostel Scheme.

BCM Hostel Scheme Eligibility Criteria

General 1.  To qualify for the BCM (Backward Classes and Minorities) Hostel Scheme, students must belong to socially backward classes.

2.  Only those enrolled in recognized educational institutions in Karnataka can apply.

3.  SC/ST/OBC students are eligible to apply.

4.  Annual income of family for candidates belonging to Category 1, SC, ST should be less than Rs. 2.5 lakh and for 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B the annual income of family should be less than Rs. 1 lakh.

  4. The list of Hostel will Open in the drop-down.
  5. Click on Hostel Scheme you are eligible for.
  6. In new tab, details of hostel with seats & eligibility will open.
  7. Read all instructions given.
  8. Click on Hostel Application Link.
  9. Application Form will open for BCM Hostel.
  10. Enter all details asked.
  11. Upload scanned documents asked.
  12. Click on Submit Button.
  13. Take hard copy for further use.
