Government of Maharashtra started Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) (originally Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana) start from 2nd July, 2012 in eight districts on pilot basis and then it was expanded in all districts of Maharashtra from 21st November, 2013. This flagship health scheme was initially started for low-income families and then added other categories from time to time. The scheme was started earlier in 8 districts in 1st phase but was later expanded to 28 districts of Maharashtra due to enormous success. About MJPJAY

The Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana is like a helping hand from Government of Maharashtra when it comes to healthcare. MJPJAY Objective

The main objective of yojana is to provide all health-related facilities to weaker section of Maharashtra state. People belonging to poor section of state will given all expensive and best medical treatments for different situations. Any people of state irrespective of any Ration card will benefitted through this yojana.  Through this yojana, government aims to provide best and cheapest medical facilities to economically weaker section of state. Various Government Hospitals of Maharashtra have selected for treatment under the scheme.

  1. It is a health insurance scheme of Maharashtra Government.
  2. The scheme provides end to end cashless services for identified diseases through a network of service providers.
  3. It is fully funded by the Maharashtra Government.
  4. Selected hospitals will provide health benefits to the people.
  5. For Kidney Transplant, 3 Lakh rupees will given to the beneficiary.
  6. Every household will given 2 Lakh rupees for medical treatment.

Eligibility Criteria of MJPJAY Scheme 2024

  1. Citizenship/ Nativity: Applicants who are an Indian citizen. Also, only permanent residents of Maharashtra are eligible for MJPJAY scheme 2024 registration.
  2. Age: There are no specific age restrictions for MJPJAY scheme registrations. Medical coverage is available to all.
  3. Income/ration card criteria:
  • Annual Income of the beneficiary must not exceed 1 Lakh.
  • All eligible families are identified with valid Yellow, Orange, Antyodaya, and Annapurna ration card.
  • Eligibility for farmers from 14 agriculturally distressed districts of Maharashtra will decided based on white ration card.

  2. Look for the “New Registration” button on the home page and click on it.
  3. This will take the applicants to online application form for Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana.
  4. Applicants advised to fill in all required fields accurately.
  5. Attach scanned copies of necessary documents as per instructions.
  6. Once everything filled out, click on “Submit” button to complete your enrolment process.

MJPJAY Claim Process

Stage Features
Diagnosis Doctors perform a diagnosis to identify and understand a patient’s medical condition.
 Treat Immediately Once diagnosis is made at a network hospital, treatment kicks off right away after getting pre-authorization from insurance company.
Provide your Referral Card If diagnosis doesn’t happen at a network hospital, an Arogya Mitra will give a referral card so applicant can begin treatment at an empanelled hospital.
Request For E-Authorization: The network hospital will request e-authorization from insurance company through an online process.
Commencement of Treatment: Once insurance company gives green light, empanelled hospital will kick off treatment process.
Submission of Documents: After undergoing treatment and surgery, hospital will send all necessary documents like medical bills, test reports, and discharge summaries to insurance company.
Claim Verification And Approval The insurance company will carefully check all documents and then give go-ahead for settling claim.
Medical Care Post-Discharge The network hospital will continue to offer consultations, diagnostics, and medications for up to 10 days following your discharge from hospital
