About Ahara New Ration Card

Karnataka state government divides people into different categories and is providing necessary food products to them according to National Food Security Act. The food grains are issued by Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs department of Karnataka based on type of ration card of beneficiary. Other than granting ration to beneficiaries, government also issues various benefits depending on type of card cardholder.

Types of Ration Cards Issued in Karnataka

There are different types of ration cards issued to locals of Karnataka. The cards category depend on the Income of the holder:

Priority House Hold (PHH) Ration Card	People belonging to rural households are get PHH ration cards. Priority category is again divided in to two sub-groups.
Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card	Families whose annual income is less than Rs.15000 get  AAY ration cards.
Annapurna Yojana (AY) Ration Card	People who are poor and are above age of 65 years are get AY Ration Card
Non-Priority Categories (NPHH)	The NPHH cardholders are not eligible to get subsidized food grains.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Ahara New Ration Card

1. Citizenship/ Nativity: Applicants who are permanent citizens of India are eligible. Only legal and permanent resident of Karnataka state is eligible to apply for ration card.
2. Age: There are no specific age specifications for Ahara New Ration Card.
3. General:

• Those who have a Ration Card from some other state are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants who have lost their ration card or whose ration card is stolen can apply for a new ration card.
• Newlyweds are eligible to apply for ration card.

How to apply for Ahara New Ration Card?

1. Visit official website of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs department, kar.nic.in.
2. Go to ‘E-services’ tab.
3. Under ‘e-Ration Card’ choose ‘New Ration Card’.
4. Select your language and click on ‘New Ration card request’.
5. Choose type of ration card.
6. Enter the Aadhaar number and click on ‘Go’
7. Select verification mode like OTP or fingerprint verification.
8. If you select OTP, an SMS will be sent to registered mobile number.
9. Enter OTP and click on ‘Go’
10. Aadhaar details will be displayed on screen after which you have to click on the ‘Add’ button.
11. This not only accepts the application, but also generates the application number.
12. Fill required details and submit form.

1. Visit official website of Karnataka food supplies department ahara.kar.nic.in.
2. Go to E-services tab and click on ‘E-status’.
3. From that select ‘Status of the new/defending ration card’.
4. Select appropriate division and choose ‘Status of Ration card’.
5. Select ‘verification type’ and enter the RC number.
6. Click on ‘Go’ and your status will be displayed on screen.

How to download Ahara New Ration Card?

1. Visit the official website of Ahara, kar.nic.in.
2. Click on link of Download.
3. Select your Ahar Ration Card type and select your Name of region.
4. Submit your Ration Card Number and click “Go”.
5. Select member of family and click “Go”.
6. The Ration Card will appear on screen.
