On April 15, 2024 the Directorate of Education, Delhi announce that admissions to Class 10^th and 12^th shall now take place through Common Admission Test (CAT). The commencement of issuance of application form start on April 18, 2024. Last date to apply for Delhi class 10,12 admissions CAT is April 30, 2024.

Only students residing in Delhi are allowed to seek admission to Class 10, 12 in Delhi government schools through non-plan admissions. Students will be admitted in Government Schools under Directorate of Education except RPVVs, SoSE and SoE.

 Aim of Delhi Govt School Admissions 2024

1. To provide education of a comparable quality up to a given level to all students irrespective of their caste, creed residence or sex.
2. It aims at promotion of a national identity, a sense of common citizenship and composite culture and strengthening national integration.
3. It lays stress on the need for a radical transformation of the education system to improve its quality at all stages and gives much greater attention to Science and Technology.
4. All children are proposed to be provided free and compulsory education up to 14 years of age. The Education Department, Delhi earnestly endeavours to implement the policy.

Eligibility for Delhi Govt School Admissions 2024

For Class 12^th:

1. The applicant must have passed Class 11 from a recognised school as a regular student during 2023-24 with desired subjects. Moreover, students must have obtained the minimum marks in Class 10 required for the opted stream.
2. Students who have passed Class 10 from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with 55% marks or above are eligible for humanities without skill subjects.
3. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will get 5% relaxation in any one of the three subjects mentioned for admission. Specially-abled students will get a 5% cut in all subjects.

For Class 10^th:

2. Students must have passed Class 9 from a recognized school as a regular student during 2023-24 academic year.

How to apply for Delhi Govt School Admissions 2024

1. To apply for the Delhi Govt School Admissions class 10, 11 and 12, visit the official website, edudel.nic.in.
2. Click on the link “Government School Admission for the Session 2024-2025” or similar link on the homepage.
3. Then under the “Admissions in Classes 10^th and 12^th”, click on “Non-Plan Admissions to Class 10^th and 12^th through Common Admission Test for the Session 2024-25”.
4. Read through the instructions given in the file.
5. Children seeking admission may fill the attached registration form (Annex-A) along with Admit Card (Annex-B) and submit it in any school nearer to their residence.

 Delhi Govt School Admissions 2024 Exam Pattern

The Test Paper for CAT will comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The candidates will provide answers in the Test Booklet itself. Test Paper for CAT will be provided centrally by Examination Branch.

Student is pass in CAT only if he/she secures minimum 33% marks in each of the subjects separately as well as in aggregate. Applicants must carry any photo ID card e.g. Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, School ID Card issue by previous school etc. in the examination centre for their identification.

1. For Class X, Question Booklet will consist of five subjects: English (20 marks). Hindi (20 marks), Science (20 marks), Social Science (20 marks) & Maths (20 marks)
2. Class XII Subject Wise Question Booklet given to applicant. Test takes place stream wise in the following subjects:
3. In Commerce Stream: English (25 marks), Maths (25 marks), Accountancy (25 marks) & Economics (25 marks). Note: For Commerce without Maths, Maths is not considerable.
4. For Science Stream: English (25 marks), Maths (25 marks), Physics (25 marks), Biology (25 marks) & Chemistry (25 marks). Note: For Science without Maths, Maths will not be considered. For Science without Biology, Biology will not be considered.
5. In Humanities Stream: English (25 marks), Hindi (25 marks), Pol. Science (25 marks), Economics (25 marks), History (25 marks) & Geography (25 marks). Note: For class XII, it is mandatory to attempt any one language along with other three elective subjects.
