3. Fill in the required details, including :

– ESCOM name
– Account ID
– Account holder name as registered with ESCOM
– Address
– Type of occupancy
– Aadhaar card number
– Name as on the Aadhaar card
– Mobile number
– Agree to the declaration and enter the word verification code.
– Review all the entered parameters.
– Click on the “Submit” button to register for the scheme.

– Applicants register on the Seva Sindhu Portal with Aadhar card details.

Gruha Jyothi Scheme 2023 Eligibility Criteria :

Current Updates of Gruha Jyothi Scheme :

1. To provide free electricity to citizens of the state as one of the basic amenities, a technical approval was given at the cabinet meeting held on May 20, 2023.
2. The government has issued an order to implement the Gruha Jyothi scheme from August 2023 to the electricity consumption bills of July 2023.
3. This scheme applies only to household electricity usage; it does not apply to commercial purposes.
4. The total electricity consumption limit per customer is 10% more than the monthly average consumption (based on usage for the economic year 2022-23). The government has ordered to provide free electricity to consumers who exceed this limit in proportion to their electricity bill and to pay the full electricity bill for those who exceed 200 units of consumption.
5. Customers who use electricity for household purposes are eligible for this scheme; those who use it for business purposes are not eligible.
6. The bill will be issued according to the total amount of electricity consumption when meter reading is done every month.
7. Customers must pay the remaining electricity bill within 3 months if there is any pending amount after distributing the electricity bill for July 2023 in August 2023 (based on the electricity consumption used in June 2023).
8. If the remaining amount is not paid within the specified period, such customers will be disconnected from the electricity supply.
9. Metering and billing of household electricity consumers will be strictly monitored.
10. If there are more than one metering points in the name of household electricity consumers, only one metering point will be eligible for the benefit of this scheme.

Special Conditions of Gruha Jyoti Scheme :

a. Consumers who owe money for electricity can still benefit from the Gruha Jyothi scheme.

b. If someone signs up for the scheme by July 25, they’ll receive free electricity for July.

c. Likewise, if they apply by August 25, they’ll receive the subsidy for August.

d. It’s essential to keep monthly consumption under 200 units on average.

e. The meter readings are taken from the 25th to the 25th of each month.
