PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2024

On the occasion of Vishwakarma Diwas, PM Modi along with the ministry of MSME started a scheme called PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Empowering the artisans of the nation, the scheme is meant to provide skill development and business loans to the people who are engaged in specified industries. PM called these artisans ‘Vishwakarmas’.

There are total of 18 industries marked out like Tailor, Blacksmiths, Goldsmiths, Barber, Cobbler, Potter etc. The scheme is meant to upskill and organize these industries so that they can earn more profit. Usually people from these industries either don’t have sufficient expertise or don’t get paid enough due to its unorganized nature. If collected together these industries have a huge potential of being upgraded, contribute to national growth and take Indian products to the international market. The vishwakarmas get various benefits like 7-14 days skill development training, upto rs 500 stipend a day and loan upto rs 3,00,000.

Scheme is conjointly managed by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MoMSME), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Development of Financial Entrepreneurship (DFS), Ministry of Finance. There is a total of Rs 13000 budget for the scheme. It is expected to run for 5 years that is until 2027-28. Artisans just have to register themselves on the online portal. They will get a PM Vishwakarma ID card and certificate in both online and offline form.

What is PM Vishwakarma Scheme ?

PM Vishwakarma Scheme is a national level skill upgradation and credit support scheme for the artisans. Upon registration on the Vishwakarma portal the artisans will get a certificate and ID. Using these documents artisans can avail many free services provided by the ministry of MSME. There will be class room lectures taken for skill upgradation training for 7 days. During training period they will get upto rs 500 per day.

Master trainers are experts in the industry and shall be sourced from all across the industry. Advanced training will deepen the entrepreneurial knowledge of the artisans which will be for 15 days, 500rs stipend per day and a rs 2 lakh loan shall be made available. Entire resource material shall be provided to the artisans by the government. It will improve the financial and social status of artisan across country.

PM Vishwakarma divided in various categories

1.Skill Assessment and basic Training	a) check their existing skills b) a basic training of 40 hours to improve their skills. Training  will be imparted at identified skill centres. c) board and lodging shall be provided free of cost d) stipend of rs 500 per day e) At the end of the training, the Vishwakarma should be confident to attempt new business practices in their trade, use the tools skillfully and have a concrete plan to utilize the subsequent Rs 1 lakh loan.
2. Advanced Training	a) training at designated training centres for 15 days/120 hours b) deepen entrepreneurial knowledge, latest techonology, and indentifying value chain linkages. c) stipend of rs 500 per day d) At the end they can avail a loan of rs 2 lakh under the scheme.
3. Toolkit incentive	a) incentive upto rs 15000 at the start of training through e-RUPI or e-vouchers. b) digital guide to increase their production levels. c) improve quality and quantity of production.
4. Credit support	a) ‘Entreprerise development Loans’ to provide subsidized and collateral free loans b) a total amount of rs 3 lakh in two tranches of 1 lakh and 2 lakh at the end of each training period. c) Upon approval the loan will credited within 5-7 days of basic training. d) repayment period is 18 months for 1st loan and 30 months for 2nd loan. d) a concessional fixed rate of interest at 5% and can go maximum upto 8% e) Credit guarantee will cover all loans based different portfolios. Maximum coverage of 50% in 1st tranche and  15% in 2nd tranche.
5. Incentive for Digital transaction	a) digitally empower beneficiaries by assisting them in digital transaction b) a minimum Rs 1 transaction of upto maximum 100 transaction in beneficiaries account through ABPS are allowed. c) it will improve the credit scores of artisans
6. Marketing Support	a) National Committee for Marketing (NCM) will provide marketing and branding support for the products of artisans. b) NCM ensures their products are marked, distributed as per market standards. c) National and international level certifications for their products d) Branding and Promotion of products e) list the products on popular e-commerce platform like ONDC, GeM, Khadi etc

Process for PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2024[apply online]:

1. Artisan can visit CSC (Common Service Centre) or can visit official site of Vishwakarma ‘pmvishwakarma.gov.in’. They can also download PM Vishwakarma Mobile App.
2. After clicking Log-in, select ‘CSC-View E-Shram Data’
3. Enter user name, Data, password, Click on ‘sign in’. Your account is now open.
4. Then you come back to home page and again click on ‘log in’
5. Click on ‘CSC -Register Artisans’.
6. Enter the username and password you entered in step 3.
7. Answer the questions asked by clicking the right options and click continue
8. Adhaar verification will take place so enter the attached information to adhaar card and click on ‘verify biometric’.
9. Enter further details about your family, caste etc
10. Enter contact details. Then enter family details.
11. If artisan is from Urban area select ‘No’. if covered under Gram Panchayat select ‘ULB’.
12. Enter profession/Trade details. Enter business address. Enter Bank details
13. In credit support section select whether artisan require credit support (Yes/No/Maybe later) enter amount up to Rs 1Lakh. Enter bank details for the loan. If artisan wants to take loan from a different bank branch than mentioned above then mention further details.
14. In Skill Training Section and Tool kit section select the facilities you need and understand the components carefully to accept terms and conditions
15. Application submit successful.
