Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) start online Bus Pass service for students. There is already free bus pass service available to citizens of Karnataka who are Physically challenged, wife/widow of freedom fighters, school children. KSRTC provides these services through its various departments like NWKRTC(North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation), BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) along with itself. Students who are studying in any school or college can apply for these bus passes online through Seva Sindhu Portal or Service plus. There are various rates for General and SC students on the basis of time of pass. Duration of KSRTC Bus Passes vary from 10 months to 1 year. The amount of Bus pass lies between Rs 150 to Rs 1350 for general students and for other categories the amount goes upto Rs 160 for ITI students.

Students who are enrolled in any course of a recognised institution can apply for KSRTC Buss pass from 30 May 2024. It is mandatory for students to register themselves on Seva Sindhu Portal for the first time. Then they get their log in credentials which they can later use to apply for bus pass. Students download necessary documents, get them signed by their institution and then submit it on the Seva Sindhu portal while applying for KSRTC Bus Pass. After verification they can collect their Bus Pass from nearby pass counter. There are total 129 Bus Pass counters set up around the state by KSRTC to facilitate Bus Pass service. The entire KSRTC/BMTC/ NWKRTC Bus Pass application service is online. However there is offline service also available on the Karnataka-One, Grama-One & Bangalore-One centres and pay a service charge of Rs 30.

About Seva Sindhu portal

Seva Sindhu is an inititative of Karnataka government which is a one-stop solution for all government services. Its implementation is under the e-District Mission Mode Project (MMP) of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY). The main aim of Seva Sindhu Portal is to establish a medium between citizens and government so that they can access all government service from anywhere and at anytime. There are services for women, farmers, students, labourers and all other civilians of the state. What is KSRTC Bus Pass?

KSRTC is the roadways transport corporation of Karnataka which is a government entity. It also operates BMTC and NWKRTC. KSRTC start this Bus Pass facility for students where they can avoid hassle of paying Bus fare everyday and rather just purchase a 10-months KSRTC Bus pass by paying a lum-sum amount at once. These KSRTC Student Bus Passes are available for students of Primary Schools, High Schools, College, ITI, Professional Course, or PHD. The pass operates only in KSRTC Busses which run within the state.

Eligibility for KSRTC Bus Pass

• Citizenship– Indian Citizens who are enrolled with any recognised educational institution can apply for KSRTC Bus pass. Students from border cities can also apply for KSRTC Bus passes for frequent travel inside the state.
• Age– Students who are atleast in primary School or above can apply for KSRTC Bus pass. There is no maximum age criteria set for the bus pass.
• Educational Qualification- According to KSRTC students of primary school, High School, College/Diploma, ITI, Professional Course, or PHD can apply for KSRTC Bus Pass 2024.

Process to apply for KSRTC Bus pass

1. Visit official website of Seva Sindhu i.e sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in.
2. Click on ‘New User Register Here’ for first time registration.
3. Enter your Adhaar Number and Captcha then click on Next.
4. Give permissions to connect with your digilocker by clicking on allow.
5. Enter your Email, Mobile number and set your password. Enter your separate verification codes receive on Mobile and Email address.
6. Log in with your Mobile number and Password on Service plus. Fill in Captcha. Click on Submit.
7. Click on Apply for services and view all available services.
8. Search Student Bus Pass apply. Select the option of Student bus pass.
9. Download the documents and get them filled by your institution.
10. Go to seva sindhu portal and apply for Student Bus pass by clicking Student Bus Pass (KSRTC)/KKRTC/NWKRTC.
11. Enter your information like Nationality, residence, type of pass, category. Choose the type of pass you need.
12. Upload documents and pay necessary fee depending on your pass.
13. Submit your application and your bus pass is now complete.
14. You can check the status of your application by logging in from time to time.
15. Visit nearby Student Pass counter to collect your KSRTC Bus Pass.

How to check KSRTC Application status on Seva Sindhu?

1. Visit Seva Sindhu portal i.e sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in
2. Click on Track your application status
3. Enter your KSRTC Student pass application number.
4. Click on search and the status of your application is now visible on your screen.
5. You can also simply log in to your Seva Sindhu/Service plus account
6. Enter your Mobile number and password.
7. Click on check status of your application and the status of your KSRTC Bus Pass application will appear on your screen.
