Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA)-2024 notification and registration start from 6^th May 2024. Admissions in various government engineering colleges, aided or self-supporting courses in Government Aided engineering Colleges will conduct on the same common platform.

Students who pass their 12^th class from Tamil Nadu Board or from outside but are natives of Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. Children of Central Government employees who are serving in Tamil Nadu from past 5 years, wards of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadre are also eligible. In case of foreigners, they must be a native of Tamil Naud. Therefore, only the students who pass Tamil Nadu nativity eligibility standards can apply for TNEA Admissions 2024. Entire admission and counselling process of TNEA 2024 is online. Last date to submit TNEA 2024 applications is 6 June 2024.

Eligibility to TNEA 2024 admissions

1. Age-No age restrictions set for TNEA admission. However there are certain courses like TNEA Marine Engineering branch which requires minimum age of 25 years. Carefully check age criteria of your course mention by your target institution.
2. Nativity– Candidates must meet nativity standards set by TNEA 2024 to take admissions into Tamil Nadu Engineering colleges.

• Tamil Nadu candidates passing 8,9,10 and 12 class from a recognise School can apply. Don’t need to present Nativity certificate.
• Wards of Central government Employees who are serving in Tamil Nadu from the past 5 years. Need to submit nativity certificate.
• Candidates whose parents are employees in Public Sector or government recognised institutions who are serving in Tamil Nadu from the past 5 years.
• Wards of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply as well.
• Other state candidates who complete their 8,9,10,11 and 12^th class form Tamil Nadu Board can apply. They need not produce nativity certificate.
• Refugees of Sri Lanka who originally belong to Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA 2024 admissions. They must present Identification certificate from Head of Quarters of Tehsildar. Original passport/VISA for those who did not register in a Refugee Camp.
• OCI who are native of Tamil Nadu are eligible to participate in TNEA  counselling under ‘Open Category’.

3. Qualification– Pass in 11^th and 12^th with Physics, Maths and chemistry subjects. Overall TNEA 2024 minimum percentage for qualification from General Category applicants is 45% and for rest it is 40%.

Steps for TNEA 2024 admissions application

1. Registration: There are 2 methods of registrations available to a candidate i.e Online and Offline. For offline method candidates can visit their nearby TFC centres and fill their application form.
2. For online registration visit official website of TNEA i.e tneaonline.org
3. Click on one of the options available for B.E/B. Tech Registrations or B. Arch Registrations.
4. Enter your basic details like Name, Mobile number, Email etc. Verify this information and set your password. Your TNEA Application number is now generated.
5. Log in: Now log in with your TNEA application number and password to complete you application form.
6. Enter your personal information like Parent’s name, address, Nationality Mother tongue, caste etc. Click on Save and Continue. Choose one of the criteria to become eligible in terms of nativity for TNEA Admissions.
7. Special Reservation information: There is reservations available to Eminent sports personnel, Ex-Servicemen and Disable person etc. Apply for the category if you are one of them.
8. Enter Scholarship information (if applicable).
9. Enter your School and academic information. Preview your form and click on ‘Continue to Pay’ if all information is correct.
10. Make payment of TNEA Application fee through any online mode suitable for you. Application fee payment through Demand Draft is possible only for offline application at TFC.
11. Upload all documents like marksheet, transfer certificate, category certificate etc. Click on Freeze upload.
12. Your TNEA 2024 application form is now successfully submit.

Rounds of TNEA counselling 2024

Dates of TNEA counselling are yet to release on official portal. However 1^st round of TNEA Counselling is expected to take place in July 2024. There are 4 stages of counselling where candidates take following steps:

1. Online Choice filling: Candidates choose the colleges they want to take admissions in. The order of Preference is important as the seat allocation takes place in the same order. They can fill any number of preferences.
2. Tentative Allotment: Allotment of seats for TNEA 2024 takes place usually in the order of preferences of candidates. Although if seats in the institution of their choice get full then their next choice of institute gets preference.
3. Confirmation of Tentative Allotment: Candidates must confirm the seat allotted to them within 2 days of TNEA 2024 Tentative Allotment. They have 6 options to select as a response.

Tentative allotment confirmation options for TNEA 2024 are as follows:

3	Decline and Upward	Candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat therefore he/she declines the allotment, but prefers to wait for allotment in the higher order of his/her choice in the ensuing upward movement.
4	Decline and move to next round	Candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat. Also, candidate do not wish to wait for upward movement and he/she is willing to participate in the next round.
5	Decline and Quit	Candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat and he/she do not wish to participate in subsequent rounds also.
6	Upward/ Move to next round	If ‘no seat’ is allotted to the candidate based on all the choices, then this option will be shown. Such ‘no seat’ allotted candidates can opt for upward movement
